- Application filing period: October 1 – November 30; Application opens: August 1

- Highly competitive
- Complete a-g coursework with a C- or better
- 10-11 grade academic GPA of 3.0 or higher for eligibility to apply
- SAT/ACT testing by December of Grade 12; Subject tests not required, but may be recommended for specific majors. Check with specific campus
- Students who meet the minimum requirements to apply will receive a comprehensive application review
- Application to include four questions (The Personal Insight Questions): Choose four prompts out of eight prompts; each response is limited to a maximum of 350 words
- No letter of recommendation required or accepted

community college
- Must be 18 or a high school graduate to apply
- California Community Colleges offer three programs:
Two year degrees: AA or AS
Transfer program to Four year colleges
Certificate programs: A variety of career areas

- Submit transcripts and test scores upon application (usually required)
- Letters of Recommendation: If your schools require a letter of recommendation from either a teacher or a counselor, the process regarding how to request a letter will be discussed in the Fall of 12th grade. It is recommended that you begin thinking about teachers who you may ask to write a letter on your behalf
- Requests for letters of recommendation must be received by a counselor 3 weeks prior to the deadline in order to ensure timely submission
