Dear Warrior Community,

We are so excited to finally have students back on campus for the first time in over six months. A few notes, tips and reminders for families to ensure our first two days run smoothly!

COHORT ASSIGNMENTS

Below is the cohort breakdown for the first two days of school. If your family has a compelling reason for wanting to change your student’s cohort assignment, please fill out the form here and we will review your student’s schedule to see if space is available. Please know in advance that cohort changes are extremely difficult and highly unlikely, and will only be considered for the most compelling reasons.

  • Thursday, September 24: Cohort A [Last name A-Le], Odd periods
  • Friday, September 25: Cohort B [Last name Li-Z], Even periods

CLASSROOM LOCATIONS

If you have not already, please print or copy your student’s schedule with each of the classrooms listed for them to bring to school this week. Your family may want to consider walking the campus after school hours to help find each classroom, and the appropriate path of travel to get from one to the next.

CHROMEBOOKS, PERSONAL DEVICES, AND ACCESSING THE WIFI NETWORK

All students are expected to bring a Chromebook or personal laptop to campus each day, fully charged, for use in each class. Should your student need to check out a Chromebook, they are available at the Media Center windows between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm on school days.

IUSD is excited to announce a new device insurance program as a resource for parents who will be checking out a Chromebook for their student to use at home. Information is available at this link.

If your student is bringing a personal device and needs instructions on how to connect to the WiFIUSD network, instructions are available at this link.

SELF-SCREENING REMINDER

We would like to remind our Woodbridge families that it is now more important than ever to keep your student home from school if they are experiencing any signs of illness or if they have been recently exposed to anyone who is known to be COVID positive. Below is our revised screening tool. Please consider keeping it in a place that makes it easy to reference each morning, prior to the school day. Thank you for your partnership as we all work together to keep both students and staff safe and healthy.

Please complete this short check each morning before your child leaves for school.

IUSD FACE COVERING POLICY REMINDER

The following is a summary of IUSD’s face covering policy. For more detailed information, including links to state and local guidelines, click here. A reminder that masks will be available for all WHS students at the front of the school each morning.

  • Face coverings are required on IUSD campuses and in classrooms for all staff, students (ECLC, TK-12 and IATP) and visitors.
  • Although IUSD’s face covering policy is aligned to the California Department of Public Health Guidelines, our policy is more stringent and requires all students, including ECLC and TK-2 students, to wear a face covering. This is not optional.
  • Persons with a medical or mental health condition or disability that prevents wearing a face covering are exempt per state guidelines. Requests for an exemption should be directed to our school nurse, Linda Mirshafiee. Medical documentation may be required.
  • Acceptable face coverings are cloth and disposable masks.
  • Face shields are not a substitute for cloth face coverings. However, in these circumstances, a face shield can be used:
    • Teachers and instructional staff (in designated situations, while teaching and maintaining 6ft of distance)
    • ECLC and TK-2 students (if they cannot effectively wear a facemask)
    • Hearing impaired (where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication)
    • Those exempt per state guidelines (parents should contact our school nurse, Linda Mirshafiee, if they are seeking an exemption)
  • Students are expected to always wear their face coverings but may remove them under the following circumstances:
    • Meals, snacks, or designated outdoor recreation, or when the face covering needs to be replaced.
    • When students are outdoors and can maintain 6 feet of distance from others, including designated outdoor classroom or educational activities, when prompted by the teacher.
    • When participating in rigorous outdoor physical activity while maintaining 6 feet of physical distance from others.

I want to thank you again for your support and trust during this complex and challenging time.

We are many. We are one. We are Warriors!
